Delhi Public School (RK Puram, Vasant Kunj, and others), New Delhi

As I mentioned in my last post (Tagore International School, East of Kailash, New Delhi), just learned that DPS school website (all the branches) flashing "No Vacancy" message on their sites.

No notice, information has been published by DPS in any of the newspapers so far. What's going to happen this year to pre-primary kids who are 4+ years old is not sure.

Is anyone listening? DOE? Delhi government?

DPS MATHURA ROAD are too good for publishing the list on the website showing their fairness. But, it is a matter of great regret that they are not all fair in selecting those candidates as shown in their list. They are trying to find one or the other objections with a view to deduct their points.
Ask them when you have sought the documents, were they people not aware of marks allocation, which they are now deducting. The publication of the list is merely an eye wash to show public at large and the education department that they have come out with fairness, while the fact of matter is other way around. Even Otherwise, their are offers to the extent of 3 lakhs, which may get your ward to get the admission in the school. YEH DPS WALE NAHI SUDHARENGE Bcoz they hv earned a lot of money over so many years and have high contacts.
ITS BETTER FOR THE PARENTS TO UNDERSTAND AT THIS MOMENT THEIR MODUS OPERANDI IN SELECTION AND TRY SOME OTHER SCHOOL. DONT HOPE HERE..... TELLING YOU PARENTS

Schools and college are the institutions which provide education to the young ones. They help one to be a scientist or engineer or lawyer or judge or journalist or poet or civil servant etc., meaning thereby they help in building the pillars of any nation. These institutions are very basic not only in building ones career but also making civilized society and building the nation as a whole. But, what will happen, if we stop sending our children to the schools or colleges. The result would be slowly and gradually, the nation would suffer. Due to rise in Indian intellectuals, whether it is in the field of science or IT (TAARE ZAMEEN PAR), who are shining now-a-days globally, would again start to fade (SAARE ZAMEEN PAR).
With due respect to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the autonomy given to the private schools in providing education and child selection, the branding of institutions which earlier was somehow restricted due to Ganguly Recommendations, is now again taking the pace and have started taking its toll inasmuch as the whims and fancies of the school in selection is not only creating confusion among parents but it also has helped the parents to face daunting task to get their ward admitted in so called branded schools.
By allowing schools to have their own parameters, management of the various schools is arbitrarily working solely with profit oriented motive without caring for child and his/her capabilities.
Rich children, generally, who are least interested in studies, get the good school and good education while the poor ones, who are most interested in studies, are deprived of the same. However, before sending rich and poor children to schools we have given the PRIMARY EDUCATION and very well made them learn in their tender ages that anything in INDIA, from kidney to kindergarten, can be bought or sold.
In this materialistic era and race to earn more and more money, name and fame, we have lost our senses and responsibilities of building society and nation. We don’t know where we are heading towards and is mad rush of making money. We don’t know that by adopting such a path, we are weakening our pillars, upon which FUTURE INDIA would stand. However, there is one ray of hope in this heavy dark side. I would like to suffice one thing before proceeding further that I AM SORRY TO STATE THAT WE, INDIANS, HAVE NOT LEARNT FROM ENGLISH/CHRISTIANS EVEN AFTER DOING SLAVERY FOR THEM FOR OVER SO MANY YEARS.
Most of the Christian institutions, these days, are still providing education on the basis of child capabilities irrespective of the fact whether he/she is rich or poor. They are actually building the society and nation as a whole, keeping aside the profit oriented approach. I, from bottom of my heart, have high regards for all MISSIONARY SCHOOLS and all those persons who have not adopted the profit oriented approach in selecting a child. MAY GOD BLESS THEM and would pray for the others to the GOD that better sense may prevail upon them and would take a long sighted approach instead of adopting narrow one.

We will fight to the end……even if we loose….We will not take it quietly

To,

The Principal,
Delhi Public School ,
Mathura Road , New Delhi

Sub: Representation regarding gross injustice to Iklavya Singh, a candidate for admission to Pre-School in your school by adopting deliberate and illegal means.

Sir,

We are the parents of Iklavya Singh, who is a candidate for admission to the Pre-School in your school. We bring to your kind notice, the following few facts for immediate and necessary action:

That for our son, Iklavya Singh, born on the 10th of July,2004, we applied through the proper process of your school for admission in pre-school. On completion of the preliminary formalities as contemplated by the process of your school, our son was awarded 60 marks by you and was shortlisted for admission as per the original list posted on the website www.dpsmathuraroad.org .

That thereafter, we met your good self on the 29th of January,2008 and got the documents verified. During this entire meeting, you and your associates appeared quite satisfied and asked us to wait for the final list .

That , however when the final list was posted by you, we were shocked to find the name of our son missing from it. The score of our son’s marks reduced from 60 to 52 in a most arbitrary, mischievous and biased manner without any valid reason. On enquiry, your office told us that since our residence ( 139 – D , Pocket – C , Siddhartha Extension ) is at a distance of about 4-5 kilometers from the school. We respectfully submit that this observation by your office is factually wrong and is not likely to cause any damage whatsoever to the school. Moreover, kindly recollect from record that the destination of disembarkation of our son has been given as RajDoot Hotel which is precisely 1.8 Kilometers from your school. Also, our residence is precisely 2.75 Kilometers from the school . We are prepared to board our son and take him back at the bus stop of RajDoot Hotel , a fact thoroughly discussed and agreed upon in our interaction with you and your staff on the 29th of January,2008.

It is clear from the above-mentioned fact that deducting 8 marks of our son for this reason is absolutely arbitrary and illegal. We are forced to read between the lines to conclude that our son has been deprived this opportunity for the reasons best known to you, for which there is no just and concrete explanation.

By the above action of your office, we feel highly aggrieved and discriminated. In view of the above-mentioned facts and circumstances, we hereby call upon you to rectify the above defects committed by your office by reducing the score of our son, and give our son admission in your school at the earliest failing which we shall be construed to knock the doors of law for this intentional high-handedness and arbitrary process adopted by you.

A copy of this representation is retained by us for future reference if any.
