The facts abouts Shemrock, Kalkaji, New Delhi

I never thought that I would be writing about any play school on my, until one of my very close friend reported this to me. It was really hard to believe his words because whatever he described was no way close to what I (and most of the Delhites) know as Shemrock now days.

Here are some top concerns reported against Shemrock, Kalkaji:

  • School doesn’t take kids out for any outdoor activities. Kids have never been taken to nearby parks even.
  • School usually sends monthly event calendar in the middle of the month and sometimes it reaches to parents after in the 2nd, 3rd week of the month.
  • Recently most of the play schools have been giving parents some clues, information on print (like list of schools in Delhi with their contact information) regarding pre-school, pri-primary admissions but this school has not extended any such help to parents.
Parents those have tried to approach the owner (franchisee owner) of this Shemrock School with their complaints, the principal has started misbehaving with those parents.
  • School organized one teacher-parent meet in last one calendar year (2007). When parents requested principal that they want to see class teacher, she refused saying that parents can only meet teachers during teacher-parent meets.
  • School has been found locked at 9am and parents/vans along with kids have to wait at school gates until principal comes and opens the lock. As kids enter the school, the maid/sweepers start cleaning the school and kids have to suffer the dust which is a well known health hazard.
  • Vans that are operating for pickup and drops of kids doesn’t have any assistant/teacher and kids are on the sole mercy of drivers that drive rash and kids usually have challenge to balance themselves in the vans journey to school. Matter has been reported to principal many times but all in vain.
These issues were reported to me by one of the parents and his one year experience with this school. If someone has any different or may be similar opinion about this school, please do share the same for the benefit of our fellow parents. Thanks!

I ALSO AGREE WITH ALL THE POINTS MENTIONED BY YOU ABOUT SHEMROCK KALKAJI.WE HAD ADMITTED OUR WARD IN THAT SCHOOL WITH HIGH EXPECTATIONS BUT SORRY TO INFORM THAT THEY ARE JUST UTILISING THE BRAND NAME.REGARDING NURSERY ADMISSION NOT ONLY THEY HAD NOT PROVIDED ANY INFORMATION BUT ALSO DID NOT PROVIDED ANY SORT OF MOCK INTERACTION OF PARENTS OR THE CHILD THOUGH THEY HAD PROMISED THE SAME AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION.
THE CHILD IS ALSO NOT TAUGHT PROPERLY.THEY ARE NOT EVEN ABLE TO RECITE A POEM PROPERLY AND IS MADE TO COLOUR A SMALL PORTION OF A SINGLE PICTURE AS THE OTHER PARTS ARE COLOURED BY OTHER CHILD.NO INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION IS GIVEN THOUGH IT IS VERY MUCH REQUIRED FOR SUCH SMALL CHILDRENS.THE PRINCIPAL AND THE LADY SITTING IN THE FRONT OFFICE PARTICULARLY IS VERY RUDE.THEY HAVE SUDDENLY ASKED FOR THE FEES UPTO MARCH,07 AT A TIME AND IF IT IS NOT PAID WITHIN 7TH LATE FEES WILL BE CHARGED.
WE ARE MIDDLE CLASS SERVICE HOLDERS BUT WANTS TO PROVIDE GOOD EDUCATION TO OUR CHILDS.THESE SCHOOLS ARE CHARGING VERY HIGH FEES BECAUSE OF THEIR BRAND NAMES.BUT WE ARE STILL PAYING THESE FEES BECAUSE WE EXPECT SOME THING GOOD FROM THEM.WE REQUEST THE MANAGEMENT OF SHEMROCK TO LOOK INTO OUR COMPLAINTS AND TO REVIEW THE PERFOMANCE OF THEIR FRANCHISE'S FROM TIME TO TIME.

I agree with the fact that Shemrock group is really bad. the management is only busy in making money through giving franchisee to everybody provided they give their portion of profits. For E.g Shemrock green in Green park is managed by really bad principals and franchisee. Even the basic necessity are not there. The gate is without lock and children at times are brought by strangers back to the school. In the kitchen you can easily see cockroaches and other pests. The three room school is cramped with almost 60-70 children without any open space. In the name of nutritious food which Shemrock calim biscuits are given to the children. Children are taken out of schoolwithout any prior information to the parents. All the work which should be done in school is given as homework. The principal is so rude they will ask to parents to take away their child if they are not satisfied rather than improving the situation. Even Dr. Arora the so called renowned educationsit and the CEO of the shemrock does not look into the repeated requests.
I am surprised how come they have got ISO 9001-2000 certifcation. Certainly I am sure This may be by bribing the concerned people.

not only kalkaji their mayur vihar branch is almost the same.located in a very unhealthy area ,it is very callous about there approach.my child hardly got any development.the schhol is there to loot the parents by charging huge fees.most of the time the school remains closed(construction work/etc) and they doesnt even bother to put notify the parents.
tries to be professional by charging on a/c of diff overheads like uniforms,books,bags....but when it comes to the main purpose they are just not there...i wish we could have a regulator to fix the menace of playschool dacoity.

literate and aware parent
