Spyder wishes every parent all the best for 1st Feb

The nursery admission process in Delhi is one of the most difficult and emotionally traumatic for everyone. It is simply heart breaking to watch amazing parents as they navigate this almost impossible process. We have seen almost every type of emotional reaction since November 2007 the date when DOE first came out with first order for nursery admissions guidelines.

I just want to wish every parent all the very best! I wish that every kid gets to at least one list tomorrow.

We plan to work closely with other parents and media starting next month and take it to next level where parents community will provide suggestions, solution to problems so that at least next year we see happy faces at school gates from start of the admissions till the last kid gets admission and even beyond. I will certainly need your help, so please keep sending your suggestions to me (at spyderindia@gmail.com) and I will try my level best and give my 1000% to this mission - no looking back from here. Thanks again to everyone and best wishes.

...and stay connected for more real stuff on Nursery Admissions in Delhi.

PLEASE NOTE: SELECTION LISTS/LINKS/URLs WILL BE UPDATED ON NAD SITE!

Cheers
Spyder

Schools survey (2007):

Surprising! In a specific and detailed IMRB survey, 72 of India's most high profile schools were rated and ranked inter se on 12 parameters: academic reputation, co-curricular education, sports education, quality of teachers, teacher-pupil ratio, value for money, leadership/management quality, parental involvement, infrastructure, quality of alumni, integrity/honesty, selectivity (in admission). In this survey the top five schools with their average scores (out of a maximum 10) across the 12 parameters were DPS, R.K. Puram, Delhi (8.02); The Doon School, Dehradun (7.99); DPS, Mathura Road, Delhi (7.93); South Point High School, Kolkata (7.80) and St. Kabir's School, Ahmedabad (7.77). The most highly ranked KVs were Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT-Mumbai, ranked 40 (average score 6.90) and Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT-Madras (aka Chennai), ranked 46 (6.77).

Quite surprisingly, Modern school, Sanskriti, Sri Ram, Ryan Intl, Birla Vidya Niketan, CJM, Carmel, Mater Dei...the ones we consider the best...did not make it to the toppers' list.

Hi Spyder

As you might be knowing that DPS EOK and DPS VV interaction date got postponed for some unknown reason. Today there is an important update on website http://www.dpsrkp.net/admission.asp

********** Last date for receiving any updation of facts is Monday, February 04, 2008 (by 15:00 hours) through email to the concerned Head Mistresses of the Junior Schools.

**********

I am sure this message is of no relevance to the candidates who are not shortlisted and only applicable to the shortlisted candidates, now the question is if they are already scheduled for the verification, why there is need for the update for facts..as they have to get the documents verified anyhow.

Any ideas? Also how many seats are there in general quota for DPS VV and EOK

Thanks for reporting the issue, we have sent a formal email to HM DPS EOK and VV askign for clarification on the issues reported by all parents (specially on the recent notice).

Will update as we get reply...

Thanks Spyder

I truly appreciate your efforts and support, this will really make this site do wonders for all. BTW, do you have any idea how many general seats are there, as its mentioned everywhere that they have 125 seats (DPS EOK) but it is not cleared whether it is general seats or it includes management quota as well.

They have shortlisted 114 for DPS EOK and 116 for DPS VV, so just wondering if the quota is 125 then why they have shortlisted less candidates

A reply will be appreciated

I have asked them to disclose exact number of seats as well. I dont have this info with me as of now. Waiting for reply.

Thanks for appreciation, I am just trying to provide as much clarity as possible, as in some cases schools are also not at fault. They deffinately played some tricks (in terms of defining point system) but you cant blame them.

Lets see what DPS has in store

DPS MATHURA ROAD are too good for publishing the list on the website showing their fairness. But, it is a matter of great regret that they are not all fair in selecting those candidates as shown in their list. They are trying to find one or the other objections with a view to deduct their points.
Ask them when you have sought the documents, were they people not aware of marks allocation, which they are now deducting. The publication of the list is merely an eye wash to show public at large and the education department that they have come out with fairness, while the fact of matter is other way around. Even Otherwise, their are offers to the extent of 3 lakhs, which may get your ward to get the admission in the school. YEH DPS WALE NAHI SUDHARENGE Bcoz they hv earned a lot of money over so many years and have high contacts.
ITS BETTER FOR THE PARENTS TO UNDERSTAND AT THIS MOMENT THEIR MODUS OPERANDI IN SELECTION AND TRY SOME OTHER SCHOOL. DONT HOPE HERE..... TELLING YOU PARENTS
