Schools do NOT care about DOE orders! Read on!!

SchoolsWeLike.com was first to report the Delhi Nursery Admissions Dates and even projected accurately that the porints critria data will be delayed as it happened last year too. This proves that schools hardly care about DOE orders and take it lightly.

Last year even after one month into admissions process many schools did not upload the data and no one complained or bothered.

Latest DOE Order Dec 2017 - Simplified and Explained in 3 Steps!

DOE Order 19th Dec 2017 - Simplified and Explained in 3 Steps!

New DOE Delhi order dated 19th Dec 2017 issued for Nursery Admissions in Delhi for session 2018-2019 is the best in the recent past years, and here we have simplified this for you -

Step I) This new circular is applicable only for -
  • All families except Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Disadvantaged Group (DG) categories
  • Private, Unaided and Recognized Schools of Delhi, including Private Schools that ARE constructed on DDA land
  • Schools that are NOT run by government
Step II) In short -

  • GOOD NEWS! - This order is applicable for nearly all Private Schools of Delhi (almost)
  • MORE GOOD NEWS! - 55% seats are open for Aam Public :)
  • Point System -
    • All schools will have neighborhood/distance as main criteria (not in order but obvious)
    • Other key criteria that are expected to play major role are -
      • First born/girl child
      • Siblings
      • Alumni
      • Transfer/adoption cases
      • Special proficiency of parents
      • School transport
Step III) BAD news. Order has many loopholes!
  • 25% seats of reserved for EWS and DG categories (and admission for those seats will be handled by DOE itself), which is alright!
  • 20% seats can be blocked by schools under Management Quota! Aha, so 20% seats school management can fiddle with (ye public hai sab jaanti hai).

Parents in a fix over nursery age limit - Nursery Admissions Delhi 2018-19

The upper age limit, set to be implemented from this nursery admission session, has left parents in a fix. While some are planning to move to NCR, where the schools have relaxed age norms, the others are still weighing their options.

Rida Sadiq, mother of a four-year-old, is planning to move to Noida. She sat out the admissions last year because, at three years and one month, she thought her son was too young for school. "I did not want to burden him with any academic pressure and was planning to get him admitted this year. But now he will be a month too old for nursery," she said.

The decision by the Delhi government to implement the upper age limit at entry-level classes this year, has now left Sadia considering other 'options'. "There are schools in Noida that has relaxed age limits," she said.
Several parents shared Sadiq's concern. Those who waited last year for the child to grow would now have to consider skipping nursery and moving to KG, because their kids surpass the nursery cutoff age by a month or so.

Sonia Dhawan, mother of a three-year-old, regrets having let go of the admission season last year, after the "school was not as per her choice". "My daughter will be youngest in the class at three years and one month, if admitted last year. I decided to wait for a year. But this March 31, she will be four years and one month and so ineligible," she said.

Though getting the child admitted in KG, that take students between 4 and 5 years, is an option, Dhawan is not satisfied. "She will still remain the youngest in the class. Kids find it difficult to cope and it takes a hit on their self-esteem," she said.

Nevata Gupta claimed that late bloomers don't fare well in groups of older peers. "I had a relative whose child was a late bloomer. They put him in school where he was among the youngest, and now he is struggling to cope," she said. Her son, too, hasn't started speaking yet. He would be 3 years and 3 months on March 31, 2018. "I don't want to put him in school just yet. But next year, if the upper age limit stays, then I won't have much flexibility in choice of schools," she complained.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Delhi - Nursery Admission 2018 Open

Nursery Admissions Gurgaon 2018-2019 - Update

Parents in Gurgaon are in a fix over the lack of clarity on admissions to nursery classes, with the new academic session about to start. Parents have claimed that like every year, this year too, schools have decided to start the nursery admission procedure on different dates. According to parents, unlike Delhi, the absence of a regulatory body for Gurgaon schools has allowed them to continue with this practice.
